Sermon Information for Pastors and Bible Teachers
All Scripture verses that are quoted in these messages are taken from the
HOLY BIBLE, NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION, unless otherwise noted. Copyright 1973,

There are few resources on the Internet that provide full-text messages for
pastors and Bible teachers, free of charge. I hope many more will become
available in the future. Some are charging money for the sermons they offer.
While I don’t think there is anything ethically wrong with that, I have chosen
to make these messages available without charge as long as the expenses for
doing so do not grow beyond our ability to meet them. Our church bears the cost
for our Internet site, and is happy to do so. If you have been blessed by the
messages and freely desire to make a contribution to the church, you may
certainly do so. The church mailing address is Palm Springs Baptist Church,
1696 S. El Cielo Road, Palm Springs, CA 92264. All such money will go
entirely to offset Internet expenses. None will go to any individual, including
myself. I am supported by our church and make these messages available without
expectation of financial reward.
Few pastors can claim exclusivity for all ideas, illustrations, outlines, or
the total content of a message–I am no exception. All of us have benefited
from the work and ideas of countless individuals and resources. Many of us
receive help with the initial direction of our messages from commentaries, other
messages we have read or heard, and books that are written about the subject on
which we are preaching. We then make that idea our own, by allowing God to sift
and tailor what we’ve gleaned to meet the needs of our individual
congregations or classes. I hope these messages can be used that way. Please,
though, do not use them as your only reference or study tool. There should
be no substitute for wrestling with the Bible text yourself, and letting "the
Word of God dwell in you richly" (Colossians 3:16) through the work of
the Holy Spirit in your preparation.
By putting the messages on the Internet free of charge, I desire that the
fullest use be made of them. It is our hope that preachers, Bible teachers, and
students of the Word, will find them useful and instructive. Feel free to make
use of these messages in whatever way you can to advance the Kingdom of God.
However, please give credit where credit is due. And if you’ve found them
helpful in your spiritual development, or the life of your church, or class...
please let us know, so we can share your joy.
Under the same wing,
Pastor Tom Rietveld
